PAOK celebrated one of the most exciting victories of the current season, prevailing 113-111 over Roma at "Palataki" for the 6th matchday of the EuroCup. Ben Moore decided the match in the final tenths, with the "Dikefalos tou Vorra" (Double-headed Eagle of the North) raising its European record to 4-2.

Moore signed off on the impressive finale

The game had a fast pace from the start, with PAOK closing the first quarter at +7 (29-22). Roma reacted before the break and closed to within one point (61-60), but Andrea Trinchieri's team maintained its lead and entered the final quarter ahead 92-86.

The hosts reached 102-93, but failed to close out the game. Roma came back and took the lead 111-109, before Moore tied it with 43 seconds left. On the last possession, Tyree missed from the perimeter, but the American forward grabbed the offensive rebound and made it 113-111, just 0.9'' before the end.

Quarter scores: 29-22, 61-60, 92-86, 113-111.

Offensive recital with 16 three-pointers

PAOK delivered an excellent offensive performance, finishing the match with 16/35 three-pointers, 27 assists, and only ten turnovers. At the same time, they collected 14 offensive rebounds, with the last one proving to be the most important of the game.

Top scorer was Brin Tyree with 27 points and 5/7 three-pointers. Cedi Osman added 25 points and Marcus Foster 20, with the three of them scoring a total of 72 of the team's 113 points. Moore finished his performance with 13 points and five rebounds, while Nick Calathes dished out nine assists.

The offensive operation was PAOK's great weapon, however, the defense left room for concern. Roma shot 75% on two-pointers and reached 111 points, remaining in contention for the win until the last possession.

Solidified its position in the EuroCup

With the result against Roma, the "Dikefalos" improved its record to 4-2 and strengthened its position in Group D. The victory gains even greater value due to the way it came, as PAOK maintained its composure in a game that changed direction several times in the finale.

Vikos next in the GBL

Andrea Trinchieri's team immediately returns to its domestic obligations. On Saturday (07/11, 17:30), they will host Vikos Falcons at PAOK Sports Arena, for the 6th matchday of the Stoiximan GBL.

PAOK remains undefeated in the championship with five wins and is at the top of the standings. On the other hand, Vikos comes from its historic first victory in the top division, as they prevailed 95-84 over AEK in Ioannina.

The challenge for the "black and whites" is to manage their energy after the demanding game with Roma and to show greater consistency in defense, in order to maintain their perfect record in the Greek championship.
