PAOK: Lisi's 41st birthday, his journey to Toumba and the support

Alessio Lisi turns 41 today, Wednesday (04/11), with his birthday finding him in Thessaloniki.

Alessio Lisi turns 41 today, Wednesday (04/11), with his birthday finding him in Thessaloniki during a particularly demanding period on the PAOK bench.

The "black and white" PAE wished the Italian coach well through its official social media accounts, writing: "Happy birthday, coach! Health, strength, smiles and always success."

From Rome and Levante to PAOK

Lisi was born on November 4, 1985, in Rome and took his first coaching steps in the Lazio academies. In 2011, at just 25 years old, he decided to move to Spain and essentially start from scratch.

Levante gave him his first big opportunity, with the Italian working for years in the youth sections and reaching the first team. Mirandés followed, where he had one of the best periods of his coaching career, before taking over Osasuna and gaining even more experience from La Liga.

In the summer of 2026, PAOK chose him as Razvan Lucescu's successor, with Lisi signing a two-year contract and taking responsibility for building the "Double-headed Eagle's" future.

The pressure and the administration's message

The first months in Thessaloniki did not go without difficulties. The results, the fluctuations in performance, and certain competitive weaknesses have increased the pressure around the 41-year-old coach.

Despite the questioning, the PAOK administration continues to support Lisi and his decisions. This was also reflected in the handling of the Taison case, who was excluded from the first team and started training with PAOK B' after the disciplinary issue that arose in the match against Asteras AKTOR. This specific decision also served as a clear message that the coach remains the central figure in the operation of the athletic department.

Lisi is now called to respond on the field. After the difficult 2-1 victory over Asteras, the big derby with Olympiacos at "G. Karaiskakis" follows. A highly demanding match, which can be a reference point for both the Italian coach and the rest of PAOK's season.
