PAOK left no room for reaction for Vikos Ioanninon, comfortably winning 93-67 at "Palataki" and maintaining their perfect record in the Stoiximan GBL.
With this victory, the "Double-headed Eagle of the North" reached 6-0, making their best start in the history of the professional championship. The last time they had started a season with six consecutive wins was in 1988-89.
Dominant from the first quarter, PAOK
Andrea Trinchieri's team entered the court determined and took an 8-0 lead, laying the foundations for the victory early on. With intense defense, good ball movement, and many available solutions, they closed the first period with a +15 lead (30-15).
The picture did not change afterwards. Hugins' consecutive three-pointers increased the lead to 23 points, with PAOK going into the locker room leading 54-33. In the third quarter, the hosts reached +30 (74-44), while the maximum lead touched 36 points at the beginning of the last quarter.
Trinchieri thus had the opportunity to fully open the rotation and use all 12 of his available players, without affecting the team's rhythm.
Quarter scores: 30-15, 54-33, 74-44, 93-67.
Pluralism and top scorer Hugins
Trevor Hugins was PAOK's top scorer with 14 points and four successful three-pointers. Mitrou-Long and Foster added 11 each, while Moore had eight points and seven rebounds.
For Vikos Ioanninon, who dropped to 1-5, Agravanis and Floyd each scored 14 points. The visitors were unable to keep up with PAOK's pace at any point and naturally suffered the defeat.
PAOK's next games
PAOK now turns its attention to the EuroCup and the away match against Balkan Botevgrad, which is scheduled for Tuesday (10/11, 19:00).
In the Stoiximan GBL, another demanding away test follows, as the "Double-headed Eagle" will face Karditsa on Saturday (14/11, 17:30) for the 7th matchday.
